This course provides a comprehensive overview of pulmonary medicine, focusing on the structure and function of the respiratory system, as well as common respiratory diseases. Key topics include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, tuberculosis, pulmonary embolism, and lung cancer. Students will learn essential diagnostic techniques such as pulmonary function tests, imaging (chest X-ray, CT scans), and arterial blood gas analysis. The course emphasizes management strategies, including pharmacological treatments, oxygen therapy, and ventilatory support.
